ok and that will be enough power? ive heard the W12GTI can take like 2000+i know the alpine is a great amp, but its fairly expensive for me (in college) so i dont want to get it and have great sound but very little output. Sorry for so many questions

If that's the case, then how about a ZX1500.1? It's refurb, but HFSC is authorized so if anything goes wrong you can send it straight to Stillwater.

thats kinda a stupid question, im sure this puts out great sound.. i think this may be the match

sorry to ask so many qeustions im not that ignorant when it comes to car audio just new to the world of sound quality (or should i say, looking for better sound as opposed to just louder)

anyone know what a sx650.1 truely does rms??

Probably around 675-700w. Maybe more.

I would definatley go with the JL 500/1.....Great SQ and the power it pushes out is great.

I've done a lot of local comps when I was running one and wasn't being touched by anyone with anything else.

Worth the extra $$$$$$ to me

The sub itself, the enclosure, and the install are going to be far larger factors of SQ than a JL Slash, Kicker SX, or Alpine PDX amp. They are all very awesome and capable amps.

i agree, thats a good price on the kicker so i think im going with that

jsut want to clear up, that will be stable at 3ohm even though it doesnt specifically say that?

The zx1000.1 definetely wont put out "worse sound". From my relatively shorter experience, mono amps put out pretty much the same sound. When you spend extra cash on a good amp though, your basically buying reliability.

The reliability that it wont break, its putting actual wattage (and with kicker, always + some).

The PDX's tho, are really hawt looking. Everytime i see them they really are shockingly small for the wattage they put out.

But out of those original 3, JL would be my last buy. Simply because the other amps listed are cheaper and do the same wattage. Don't get me wrong JL is nice, but the others are somewhat cheaper, and if ur in college like me, u want the goods at a low price.

The SX650.1 is a solid choice, and because I'm a kicker *****, and the DSP, and the extra wattage, and knowing you got an amp that isnt going to break ne time soon, is reason enough. I

Except the JL. Prolly why JL makes those subs w/ wierd ohm loads...

I love how the amps tho push out the power at w/e u have it hooked up to.

the JL and the pdx with put out their rated power (500 and 600w rms) at 3 ohms. the kicker will be more around 450ish.

i would suggest a larger amplifier for the w12gtimk2
