PCU Power Supply Used in HT.

I have a PCU Power Supply that is rated at 8 amps at 12 volts. Is that rating for the entire power supply, or per wire? I'm looking to power a small CA amplifier with it. The amplifier has a 10 amp fuse in it, so will it be fine running off a 8 amp power supply? I already have all the equiptment stated, and was just wondering if it would work.

But, P=IE so 8*12= 96 Watts...

I would assume the supply is more than a 96 Watt power supply.

I am sitting here looking at a power supply from a computer which is 450 Watt Max and it says it will do 20 A Max at 12 Volts...

So infer as you wish...

It will work, but you won't get rated power on most amps because the majority of them are rated at 14 when you are running it at 12.

there is more than just the 12v rail that makes up the "total" wattage
