Party setup

I'm going to focus on my new project now after building some Noah's 8's for my parents. The primary goal is to get a reasonable amount of bass in a 10' x 12' dorm room, which is pretty small. I'm going to use 1 of my car's Fi SSD's since I don't drive that much being in college. Since I have dual 4 ohms, are there any amps out there that are 2 ohm stable? I know Dayton's line of amp rack's are 4 ohms stable, but I didn't see anything about 2 ohm stability. If not, I guess I'll have to use both subs lol.

For the top-end, what would be good for treble? I see a lot of horn tweeters on these applications, so maybe I should do that? I'm not really sure -- I'm pretty new to this stuff.

My last questions have to deal with the crossover and the tuning. I'm planning on porting the box, so what would be a reasonable tuning frequency for this application? Since I'm sure the crossover specs are dependent on the tuning, what would be the best way to find the x-over points?

You need more than subwoofers and horn tweeters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I'd recommend something like a pair of Klipsch Heresy's or Heresy II's...in a dorm room they'd be loud enough to easily get you kicked out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'd power them with a vintage integrated amp, running from the output of your sound card or whatever you're using as a source.

ummmm anyone see anything wrong with this. Party.....10'x12'.......thats what I live in and I dont have room for more than 4 sober people.

Bullshit, I have fit 15+ in a room like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Look into some BIBs with 8s if you have the room, you won't NEED the subwoofer...

Pioneer B20s and some cheap tweeters and caps will run a little under 70 bucks, plus wood...Search Pioneer BIB at diyaudio.com...

I would have built them, but I didn't have a truck to lug them around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Indeed. All about good space management //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
