I'm looking at these LEDS on partexpress.com(http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=070-015)

what exactly does this mean?: "Red diffused LED in the industry standard T-1-3/4 5mm case style. Typical forward voltage range 1.7Vdc-2.2Vdc 20-30mA." I understand the size and that it draws 20-30ma, but what is the typical forward voltage range mean? does this mean I have to wire 6 of them in a series to hook them up to 12 volts? Thanks

shop from here, better quality and selection. the THC3 LEDs are killer.

forward voltage is the voltage they need to work at "rms" power. 30ma is the amperage that they consume. i usually like to round them down to the nearest wholenumber. but yes, running them in series will up the voltage so you can use them on a 12v rail - BUT REMEMBER! when your car is ON it is 14.4 volts! so that is the number you have to use!!!!!
