PLEASE DONT GIVE ME THE ITS SKARBAGE, SKAM AUDIO ETC. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT WHAT THE OWNER HAS DONE HONESTLY AS LONG AS THE EQUIPMENT PERFORMS WELL, WHICH I KNOW IT DOES.... ALSO DONT WANT OTHER SUB OPTIONS, JUST THE QUESTION AT HAND

Anywho, im thiinking about picking up a pair of Skar VVX V2 12s and run at .5ohm on my Soundstream Ta1.3000d.

Assuming the amp does 3k before rise(I'd say more like 2500-2700 average due to other tests I've seen on it). So ill assume after rize and voltage rhey will see roughly 800-1000 each(AMP WILL BE OSCOPED CLEAN). The ported spces on the subs say 1.75 - 2 cubes net. Seeing that I will be running alittle over rated should I be aiming for the minimum size for ported enclosure(3.5 cubes net/1.75 per) or should I aim for the middle (3.75 cubes net/1.875 per sub).

Don't need tuning or design help just curious how to determine the size. If needed to answer my question, my goals are a daily spl but still able to meter decent for the occasional comp.

Any help is nice and thankz

I know the first version took quite a bit over rated. Haven't heard much about newer skar stuff though. I would assume you'd be fine. Set the gain for a bit over rated and see if it seems like they will take a bit more and go from there.

Generally, you want a smaller enclosure if you're running more power. I'd aim for the smaller side of recommended.

I had 3 vvx'1 10's wired at .67 on a pair of strapped skar 2500's... That garbage lasted 3 + years till it was stole... Buy direct from kevin 95$ per sub $400 per 2500 but I was repping his brand sooooooo... ***** my lil Saturn Ion.... Each 10 had lil over 1.25cf per box was low 4.0cf u can find it on here if u want made by cant think of name.... Tuned to 28hz...

That's what I figured... I figure the min 3.5 cubes to 3.75

I had 4 Skar 8's for a few weeks. They got down for what they were. Kevin was helpful and communicated well when I had questions. That was when Skar first popped up though and I know a lot of people don't like them now for whatever reason.

Buy them people talked mad crap when I bought them but once all was said and done my 1k system could **** there multi k system.... Kevin is a good guy I bought when skar just popped up...
I think i may go that route with VVX V2s. Im not a huge fan of the v3. They look cheap to me for some reason and motor looks small as well

i've seen a few 2.5inch coils handle 1kw if your very careful.. but these coils where pretty huge.. like 60mm winding lengths. with that

being said said probably not a good idea.

then again you might have a huge rise and it might workout great.

looks like you wont get a ton of rise but i think as long as its not clipped to hell and your careful they will POUND..

I had mad rise..... That and I watched the volume knob... I know nothing of the v2's or 3's but the v1's were no joke...

seeing the vvx line similar to the SA line of SD. Ive seen SA's take 1500 rms daily. i think they will be fine with my amp, ive seen these on SAZ3500s before and they were fine, just have to be carful make sure the power is clean.
