I guess just make sure there aren't any overspray or bubbles if you're gonna paint it yourself.

Alumapro used to sell alloy cone subwoofers with tons of different colors, not sure if they make them anymore.
Why would you want to paint the cones on a subwoofer? It'll increase the weight of the cone and probably makes it sound worse and more sloppy. There are plenty of subwoofers on the market with different colored cones, what color are you going after?
