Painting my box

Already have a box that will be going in my 2007 Jeep grand Cherokee.

So far I took out the false floor because I thought the box would be too tall.

Then I started thinking maybe I could do something to my advantage. I WAS thinking about putting my amps under the floor with cooling fans.

But 1st lets just get this box painted.

The top is a little uneven thanks to the precision craftsmen at home depot. So time to break out the belt sander and 150 grit belt. It took some time to flatten it out perfectly but it’s better than Fudgeing up the entire box to save time.

After sanding the edges it is starting to look a lot better .

just an FYI, after allllll that sanding PLEASE use a filler on the edges! bondo, DAP spackling, something to cover the edges. they are EXTREMELY porous and no matter how much primer or paint it will continue to **** it all up, leaving you with an extremely ugly paint job as the edges will be alot lighter than the rest of the box.

Good advice here. I like bondo myself. But if you use spackle make sure its not a type that heavily shrinks, otherwisr you're gonna end up having to go over it a second or third time

I was thinking of bondo but at this point I not sure if it will do. What about fiber glass resin?

Shiznt happened. Went out of town this weekend an came back to see the box fell off the bricks it was sitting on (face 1st). It messed up the coat of resin that I put on it so I did the best I could to remove it. At that point I said fockit and started to paint black. Im still sanding at 400 and 600 grit. Just put a layer on and looking at the results. Im not happy with it anymore and a little irritated that the box fell over and got soo messed up.

After the 1st layer of black
