you cut holes like me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

it looks like it was done on purpose... there is a theory behind such cuts

yea if you cant fix that tinsel lead, you should be shot.

some solder + wire + heatshrink will be perfectly fine, and most likely stronger than the origional tbh.

but whatever man. its your speaker.

No it wasnt done on purpose....its called my jigsaw blade breaking the first time......and then the 2nd time the ****ing jigsaw itself broke because the blade popped out and snapped the end off lol. But no thats not how i normally cut holes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif .

Well thats what i thought when i resoldered it.....but i used a coupler and soldered that so ill have to try that way and see what happens.

such as...?

I've read that a staggered cut opening reduces reflections off the baffle on the rearwave... this will cut down supposedly on some reflections back through the cone

I have NO idea if this is measurable... but it sounds certainly inaudible to me at 1khz... let alone for a sub

however I know that some people to this day still employ this technique

rounding off edges of baffle and staggering the cut line are the two most common ways... and I believe he did both from the pic

take some high strand 28 awg wire... trim it off... solder it with 60/40

slide heatshrink over it and I doubt she'll come apart again

might wanna add more lead to reduce the stress on the joint there itself... that way it won't extend as much during excursion

Well finally got amp working.....the remote wire on my headunit went out and i just wired it onto the Red wire that turns the headunit on. But anyways all i have to say about the system its self.....its good lord. Its so loud its not even funny.....i have it in a 5.5 ^ 3 tuned to 40 hz thx to Moe Lester //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif . All in all though im very happy with the turn out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif :veryhapp: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
