PA TS980 & Alpine Type R

Sorry for my newbness...

This amp is:

220x2 RMS @ 4 ohm

280x2 RMS @ 2 ohm

560 RMS @ Mono Bridged

This is where I get confused. It says 560 RMS bridged, but in the specs it also says "2 Ohm Stable Stereo."

The Type R's are dual voice coils 4 ohms. So it can run 2 ohm or 8 ohm... right? Would that work with this amp?

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Wow, PA tech support is awesome. Got this reply back within an hour of sending it out.

"The TS980-2 amplifier is 2 ohms stable in stereo mode and 4 ohm in bridged mode. If the woofer power rating is between 500 to 700wattts rms and can be wire at 4 ohm, then the amplifier will have no problem playing the woofer."

lol power acoussssstik? LOL! if you getting power acoustik ima trade my memphis and get a audiobahn amp......no ,no ,no roadgear from walmart...yea thats the one!

nothing wrong power acoustik, don't mind mr type r freak from "da dirty souf".. that amp will not work well with a dual 4ohm sub because if you bridge the power to it, it will be a 2ohm load which your amp is not 2ohm stable mono... i have run that amp at 2ohms daily before for quite some time.... gets ungodly hot but never quit on me... you can try it, but i wouldn't advise it...
