PA microphone repair

I'm trying to fix the PA mic on my whelen(295HF100). Inside the mic's housing is the switch and a black cylinder connected by two wires, which is the actual mic. I figured it is that black microphone piece that is bad.

Does anyone know where I can get a new one of these?

I was thinking about looking for an old cb from goodwill or something and taking the piece out of there??

Whelen only sells the entire mic assembly and wants $130(not gonna happen).

Thanks

I've replaced the elements in a few electret condenser mics before, not too bad to do. I've had good luck with Heil Sound elements, but then again I was looking for something that'd work well with FM and SSB audio transmission, not quite PA use...

Do you know what kind of mic you're dealing with? Electret? Dynamic/ribbon?

I don't know what kind it is, I took some pics of it if it helps.
