First of all I could care less what deck you run in your vehicle. It is your choice and yours alone. What I didn't care for is how you were sort of trying to sell your "belief" as a fact. I really don't know what the difference is between a 24bit converter and a 1 bit converter with 24bit resolution. I still think it's just pioneer's website that is screwy and that the converters really ARE 24 bit.

I am not trying to sell anything. I actually think that the 880 is a very nice HU. I thought about getting one, and still have been contemplating using it in my other car. I stated what I believed it "may" have as a DAC. My belief in this was influenced by the not very informative response that someone from Pioneer had given me to my questions regarding the DEH-P8600MP.

Fair enough. But I still want to find out what the differences are. My friend is an installer for a Premier dealer. Maybe he can call their tech line and find out.

I doubt the CD500 would even be as good as the other two. Thats just my opinion of course but there is a reason why the cd500 costs alot less than the CD700II. It is nowhere near the same quality of that flagship deck. People are just getting all horny over the "nakamichi" name.

wow! but i'v seen many reviews about cleaner sound of the cd500 than the p880! im not much interested in ton of the functions , want sq only:) . how ever the eqs or ta and x-overs make a so nice sound but i think not as good as "only sq units".

I had a CD700 before, and when I compared it to the MB70 cd changer (uses it's own dac) I could not hear a night and day difference. Actually, I could hear no difference at all.

That would be totally system dependent.
What I meant to say was that they were both in my truck, I had my CD changer hooked up to the CD700. I could not tell any difference. The CD700 was not doing the processing of the CD changer since I didn't have the necessary cable, it was just hooked up with RCA's, meaning I couldn't tell much difference between the CD700's 24bit dac to the MB70's 1 bit dac.

From my experience, I wouldn't say that Nak would sound night and day different then the 880PRS.
