I have always wondered if it has been tested and quantified between subwoofer sizes in the same line (ie type R, SA's, or whatever) with the same amount of watts, what the output difference would be. Anyone ever tested this?
Is it really that little of a difference? I figured you'd get more of a difference with say a ten discplacing roughly 70% of the volume of air a twelve would at full excursion, all other variables kept constant.
1.5 dB up per size. Hmm. That does sound plausable. When going from 10 to 12 or 12 to 15 wouldn't be much audible difference but I would think most trained ears could tell a 3 dB difference between a 10 and a 15.
