out of phase?

So i was hooking up a couple of tc-3000's dvc 2 ohm in a box, and it sounded awful. didnt get loud, no port velocity and subs were near xmax. then swapped out one of the speakers with a different 3000 and it sounded great, lots of port velocity and barely any excusrion(not too high of volume). I hooked up that sub 3 different times, so I don't think my wiring was 180 degrees off, but I dont know what it could be. I hooked up the "bad" 3000 by itself and it plays fine. any ideas?

One of the coils on the sub could be wired/marked wrong form the factory....

i measured them in series with a dmm and they read 4.1 or so, that's what I was thinking too.

measure each coil by its self and see if your meter reads one backwards. (example- 4.1 or -4.1)
