Our privacy is gone to SH*tz! Cablevision sent me a warning

Enemy of the State

Good thing I don't steal music.
It was not music

get a new isp
if they are gonna warn you it is pretty much a given that if they get asked by the RIAA or MPAA for personal info it is pretty likely they will just hand it over without a fight and that sucks

Not music

If anything does come of it and you are running through a wireless router just say you had it running with no security and somebody musta leached your connection and served the file. Negligence over straight guilt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I had an unsecured wireless network

Don't steal then.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif I enjoyed this thread. Thought I doubt it will affect hardly anyone on this forum whom does transfer movies/files.
Just being helpful, hope it keeps anyone from getting into drama and secure your wireless networks.

What program?
BitTorrent

It's not privacy when you are using their service for an illegal action...

Also, I've heard Cablevision will significantly cut your bandwidth if they send you letters like this...

I have Cablevision, and have yet to receive any such letters...but don't do all that much downloading..

Yup, never assume anything you do online is private, chances are it could come back to bite you in the ***...

Yea I work for a cable provider and we get those quite a bit. Although we just suspend peoples service and make them call in. They are nice to send you a letter. [and we (cable provider) dont search for what you download, those requests are sent to us]

Watch ENEMY OF THE STATE or the new Die Hard. and yes, I noticed a significant slow down on my connection.

That's why usenet is where its at. usenetserver.com is a private third party that obscures all details of any downloads obtained through their system and deletes all records. Part of their user agreement is an assurance that they don't track anything you do for any reason, and since its third party, all your ISP sees is traffic to nntp.usenetserver.com over and over.

All you newbs using limewire and bittorrent are just asking to get assraped by these money hungry dinosaurs desperately flailing against the tsunami of electronic theft.

I've watched them...what do they have to do with you illegally downloading files over the internet?

There's no privacy issue here...you're using their service as a medium to illegally download...I don't see where the issue is...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
