Thanks for the compliments. We sanded the absolute best we could, but the long and short of it is simply that neither one of us are professional body work guys so we did our absolute best. Is it wavy? Yes (a little), but like I said in the original post, this was the very first time we had ever attempted something of this magnitude. We learned so much by actually doing it, that I think our subsequent attempts will be even better. Practice makes perfect right?!?! We knew the learning curve would be steep, but I think we hit a homerun with this one.yes- very good job if it was your first time
the wood frame was done beautifully! Looks like you didn't feel like sanding toward the end. those wide curves like that can be very tricky.
HAHA!! I think we have something like $70-80 bucks in materials in each box. Fiberglass stuff is expensive when you're new to the game and don't know that the internet is 10 times cheaper than Home Depot. We would definitely build another, not a problem. The only thing that we would ask is that the person definitely not put a time stamp on the project because this kind of work is extremely tedious. It wouldn't be nearly as tedious if you were to simply cover the box with vinyl or carpet, but when you're painting the box, the imperfections will absolute show. Those look great. About how much did it cost to build that? Would you build another? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I agree. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifWell, it isn't perfect but for our first crack at fiberglass I think we did pretty good!
