What’s up guys, I just wanted to show you a project that myself and cosmiccharlie worked quite extensively on and I am rather proud of the final result because this is the first time either one of us has ever done Fiberglass. Because of the amount of builds that we have every weekend, it took us roughly 2 months from start to finish, but the result is so nice and the boxes absolutely sound incredible. A fellow member, Bamaboy, has heard my 12 and he can definitely vouch for how loud and clean my system plays with just 400 watts on the sub. The boxes are a total of 5 layers thick, approximately ¼” thick, with 1 layer of fleece and 4 layers of woven fiberglass mat. If you have any other questions that I haven’t answered please don’t hesitate to ask myself or cosmiccharlie. Without further ado here are the pics.

We started by laying the foundation.

We actually skipped taking pictures where we put down layer after layer of woven mat and went straight to when they were first sanded.

Finally time to get into primer after getting the surface as wrinkle free as possible.

YEEHAAW!! Time for some paint. Paint that was chosen is the color that matches the color code on our cars. There is a place online that you can send them your paint code from your door jam and they will actually put your paint color in an aerosol can. Bet you wouldn’t have guessed these were painted with an aerosol can. HAHAHA!!

After 6 layers of paint and 6 layers of clear, plus some good ole wet sanding. Gotta love a little overkill.

Someone put a nice paint job on the enclosures! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I am very proud of how these turned out! I can't wait to get my car back from the paint shop so I can actully listen to mine!

Those look great. About how much did it cost to build that? Would you build another? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yes- very good job if it was your first time

the wood frame was done beautifully! Looks like you didn't feel like sanding toward the end. those wide curves like that can be very tricky.
