can anyone tell me about some speakers on the $250 range i thinking about the alpine type x i heard a lot of good reviews about them im looking for loudness but also sq lets say 65% sq 35% spl i currently have mb quart discus series on the front and coaxials on the back but the quarts dont work as i expected they are weak so please i need option

What kind of power do you have on tap? From what ive read, the elemental designs 6500s are a GREAT bang for your buck. I havent heard either, but im pretty sure the 6500s will kill the Type xs. The 6500s are on par with the CDT HDs if i remember correctly.....price is 250 shipped at edesignaudio.com

i have an orion 4004 but i might have to upgrade because it gets to hot after a while and goe ointo protect even when the gain are at mid level
