Orion HCCA 15.4

im pretty sure.. i had it professionally installed... it already sounds really good but im never satisfied //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
ok. are you hooking this stuff up yourself this time? jumping up to 1000 watts on the subs, installed correctly, would be a fairly signicant difference. i would get some different component speakers. my opinion.

what speakers do you recomend??? they have to be 5x7

if you can, i would convert it to a 6.5 inch round. never done a 5x7 conversion. done some 6x8's. i would think that with a little minor triming and an adapter ring, it'd be fairly easy.

hmm ill put that in mind... but first i want to get my new head unit.. then sub/amp.. then ill work on the speakers because im happy with them so far. the subs cant keep up with the speakers

Is there anybody with real experience using this driver?(HCCA 15.4) I have a local dealer and he's giving me a really good price on a pair. I'm kinda worry about the recones and thats why I rather try a pair of MT's or DD G's.

That Orion Looks huge in person.

Chris

I ran H2s for a while and our local shop caries the HCCAs I have heard them and one of the guys around here runs em. I really like them. I couldnt compare them though for ya cause Ive never ran a MT or DD G in the same enclosure or vehicle. Didnt snoop run a pair in his jeep for a comp or something?

you gotta use a passive High pass filter on your front speakers, or get an amp on them and use built in HPF.

BOSS amps are crappy low end flea market quality, the Orion subs are inneficiant and neeed like 2.5K to get loud. and you are not gettign 2k out of boss amps on stock electricla I dont care if you run 4 of them it aint happening.

Heh.. I just went through this.. ask etznova.. I wanted to buy his DD 9515 15" ... I had no idea what I was getting myself into if I actually wanted to run this sub.. I would of had to replace my alternator, get a new battery, and look at spending atleast $500 on an amp to be able to sufficiently run the sub. These kind of subs are very high end and are SPL subs. These subs will get so loud that you will want to get out of the car because they are pounding your ears so hard. Just something to think about. This is a great sounding sub to say the least though.
