I have the option of getting 2 setups

(havent decided on ED or orion yet if I went this route)

Orion 1200D / Nine.1 (orion specs1200 mono @ 1ohm)

+

Orion 6002 / Nine.2 (orion specs= 2x300 @ 2ohm)

$410 shipped brand new for these packages

-or-

D7401 800 mono @ 2ohms .003 THD (full power from 11v to 16v)

+

D7054 100W x 4 @ 2 Ohm Stereo, 200W x 2 Bridged @ 4 Ohm

$600-650 shipped (brand new 7401 slightly used 7054)

(80 amp draw from each of the D7s @ full power and .003% thd)

They will be powering a set of Adire Koda 6.1s and a Diamond Audio D9 15"

Would I be able to notice a difference in sound? (even playing @ 192?)

Would it be a minute difference in sound quality or something id definetley notice?

The money could be spent elsewhere on my system such as going towards installing a carputer instead of a KDC-X889. (carputer would be $650-750 w/ screen, id build a SFF + lilliput touchscreen)

IMO Diamond makes some of the most ridiculously over priced amps out there...and I doubt you will be able to hear a significant difference. Nice thing about ED products is the 3 year warranty...but I go through equipment so fast that I really don't care....

I would never consider Orion b/c I detest DEI and I would not want any of my hard earned $$$ going to them.

That said, you have many more options here. What is your total budget and what is the vc config and rms on that sub?????

Im switching out the Kodas for a pair of Dylans new ologyaudio components...so pry need to upgrade the power

the D9 is 1000 rms

I can get the 1200D and 6002 for $410 shipped paypal brand new, one of hell of a deal i think what other in that price range compares?

Correct. I had some of the E7 amps and they were built like brick shithouses.. Unforutnately, the company went under (I bought two new ones and one was dead out of the box).

So you pay 40% more, and its used equipment, and I'm assuming the cheaper setup has a warranty? No question in my mind I would get the ED/Orion package.

Juan

I have a D7056 and D7152. By far the best installed amplifiers I have ever owned. What I have noticed that seperate the Diamonds from other amplifiers that I have owned is the absolute lack of background noise in the system. At very low volume levels with my head on the speakers, there is no hiss at all.

They also have very nice 3-way crossovers. If you are interested in bandpass, this is a great help.

Overall, the D7 amps are some of the best ever made. My only complaint would be thier size.
