Orion blows......literally

you should talk to the person that just blew his 2nd 2500d, guess what caused it? Maybe too high of input voltage?

and about frying h2's, it can be done easily if your sending a clipped signal to it or your box is wrong. so far i have heard maybe 10 people having probs with the equipment. Question, how many people run orion?? If it was only 10, i would say holy hell, but i would say atleast 5000 people run the product, i could name off a quick one hundred or so, and name 2 that had problems till i helped troubleshoot the problem. Guess were the problem lied? USER ERROR. either too high of rca voltage, bad ground & voltage, or bad box. just because the equipment isnt DUMMY PROOF doesnt make it bad product.......

I know theres a ton of people out there who run orion, and i was just pointing out the people that I KNOW who have had problems with orion stuff, and it just happens to be that EVERYONE i know who runs orion has had a problem in some way or another.

All of us are competent people who know how to properly build and setup a system, and who compete on a regular basis. So we are all pretty much experienced. I just find it ironic that everyone i know with orion has broken something, and i KNOW a ton of other people have had problems too.

It shouldnt be THAT easy to blow an H2 because of a clipped signal. They are supposed to be these badass subs that can take 2kw, but the fact is everyone i know who has tried 2kw has destroyed a sub. Hell, people with a 1200d on it have blown them.

The point is, i've beaten the shit out of my stuff and NEVER had a problem with anything. Clipped the seXXX till it reeked of coil, and it plays fine. Clipped an H2 for a second and it goes up in smoke.

You can talk to tons of professionals and they will all tell you the same thing....poor design/build quality.

But of course, i have to say that it's MY OPINION so i don't get reamed by all the people that **** orion off.

EDIT: On a side note, most of the amps just blew out of nowhere at low volumes, hell, one of them was even running at 2 ohms......

someone saying they can blow a h2 off 1200watts and claims to be competent..........

like i said, its not dummy proof. i ran them off of 4 1200d's per woofer and never blew any. but you cant do it on 1200 watts........

and for the amps, refer to my troubleshooting. otherwise the other amps coming from chunglams would have the same problem.

i blew my HCCA after a couple weeks. when i gutted it, it was because the coil hit vent.they had set the frame on the motor about 1/8" off center http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=73093

but thats probably not all that common. frying shit...ya, thats more than likely user error.
How is running an amp at 2 ohms at 1/2 volume and having it blow up "user error"?

How is the surround detaching because there isn't enough glue on the surround "user error"?

I'm sorry, but they just have shitty build quality these days. Their old stuff rocked, but i've had nothing but bad experiences with the new crap.

There's no "troubleshooting" to do, they have shitty RCA inputs. How are you gonna troubleshoot that? On two of the amps they literally BROKE OFF.

All of the proper steps were taken in making sure the amps were setup properly....

You also sure as hell aint running 4 1200d's per sub daily, i know you are just burping them. So lets not even start about that....

some posts on here may be a little coughbiasedcough. but anyways... i can vouch for the H2 being blown off a 1200d. not once but twice if i am not mistaken. i'm actually kind of glad orion sent this guy an extra H2. he will need it.

My feelings exactly. I'd stick up for a company too if i ran all of their shit.

User error has nothing to do with low volume.

And since when is a sub "supposed" to blow when you have an amp running at "half" it's RMS and show it a lil clipping?

Since when is an amp just poopin out at low volume alright? All user error... I guess the amp saw too much input voltage when it was at 1/30th of full volume? Perhaps it can't handle DOUBLE its rated impedence?

This stuff isn't "odd"... EVERYONE I know who has owned an h2 has blown at least one. Whats with that? Sounds like the

They were all in the right box, and the amps were wired properly... and always seem to blow at low volume?

The only company that I can compare to orion would be pyramid/boss... but hey, its nice while it lasts eh?

wow to be honest my frined blew 4 h2 15's and they suppose to handle the 2500d by themselve..but i guess not...the amps are great..but the subs stink.....re is more durable than the h2's...actually the re sx and xxx bass is stronger than the h2's period

h2's really arent even loud... which is the worst part.

nor do they sound all that great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The amps are nice while they work, thats about all.
