Orion 2500D VS IA 20.1 here...results..

and just to make sure im measuring the power correctly..
with the DMM put the +/- leads on the speaker wires...

with the clampmeter, clamp around 1 of the wires (ie: i have 2 runs of 8awg per sub, just clamp it around ONE of the 2 wires...)

am i doin this right?
so you use the dmm on speaker wires, and clampmeter where? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Not to be a ******* or anything, but in order for him to get the SAME power (or at least the same score) he is going to have to get MORE batteries AND run at a lower impedence than he had to before?

Sounds like a fantastic upgrade. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

regardless of what amps he runs... 10.5 volts is ghey..

if he's going to continue competing.. he'd be retarded to keep that voltage either way.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

looks like tomorrow I'll be throwin a Kicker ZX2500.1 in the mix...see how it stacks up against these 2 amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it shall be interesting.
Sweet I wanna know these results:up2somet:

He never had that problem with the orions, hence why this was just a bad choice all around.

Once again, he has to spend more money and wire down even lower to do the same score.

Its ridiculous to even think about it. How can you even justify your statements with results like this? Why should a person have to go out and buy 2 more batteries just to make a pair of boner-ific amps do the same power/score as the pair of amps he had before?

Wouldn't it be easier just to go back to the orions? Hell, just imagine if he strengthened the voltage and lowered the impedence rise to the orions. The IA's wouldn't have a chance.

i'll post up the results tomorrow after the testing takes place //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i'm excited to see what it'll do.
I think its gonna do great at the ohm loads your running.........I think its a real good daily amp.

not su re if the kicker will run @ .5 daily....

.7, yes it will.

So i'll be seein what kind of power it does @ .5 if it even runs. and the power @ 2 ohms....

and 1 ohm also....(now why would i even try @ 1 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif :up2somet: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif :up2somet: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif :uhoh: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif :uhoh: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif )

did I say to keep using the 20.1's?

didn't think so..

1600 watts from an orion 2500d isn't good gravy either..lol

he needs to fix voltage.. period..

I've been wanting to get ahold of the kicker as well, even though I don't need it. Something about it makes me feel all warm inside. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok then, as long as we agree on something. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I've been telling him for a while for him to fix his voltage issues, and he's working on that.

But its amazing how many people in this thread automatically assume that something is wrong because the IA lost. The fact of the matter is that for the IA to do its power, it draws a ton of current and needs the voltage to back it up.
