orion 2500D and alt voltage input...

What is the max voltage the orion 2500d can take?? I have 13.8volts going now but im sending my alt back to dom for an external regulator and need to know what is safe for voltage imput.

13.8 volts is whats required so u should be good

the orion can handle 16v with mods i hear.

I cant go to 16volts due to the rules for stock class, I know the amps can handle 14.4volts but im not sure if itll be safe at 15?

might have to be modded, run a search here on the forums. its been gone over how to do the mod i believe.

just curious because having the alt at 15volts it is still considered a 12 volt system. ill have to ask hccafan

My owners manual for the HCCA-D5000 says the supply voltage range is 9-16V. Not sure if that is a change from the 2500D, or if they are the same.

Yes but it won't be easy to handle or even get 15 volts...I suggest talking to some one that competes a lot.

i reckon its modded and in the stock class I cant compete with a 16 volt system.
