Orion 1200 at 0.5 ohm daily?

Just as the title says, can a orion handle a 0.5 ohm load daily? Just looking to get a lil bit more power out of it but I dont want to blow it or anything. Ive had it for a year on my AA assassins and looking to do a new setup.

Just curious because I have seen other people on different forums using Orion 2500d at 0.5 ohm and I wondered if it was ok to do the same with the 1200d.

It should work fine. With the impedance rise it will be closer to 1 ohm anyway. Just make sure you have the proper size wire and it's ground well.

had my 1200d for about the same time. it popped without warning. gains have been set all the way down the whole time too in a flawless install. its xenon time for me. and hopefully my orion 8004 doesnt blow. but ymmv.

you should be able to, but for the love of god, watch you gains and monitor it for a while.

Which makes sense, I have had my for about a year bought it brand new from cardomain and have been running it a 1 ohm mono on 4 AA assassin 12s for just about a year now. Amp has been working flawless, barely gets warm and I keep my gains low thanks to the signal out of the Audiocontrol Four1. I may look into another amp for my next project just dont want to fry the thing. Thanks.

I'm thinking about getting a 1200d to run 3 pioneer's 306dvc's wired at 0.66ohms.

Do you think it will handle that load¿?
