Ok guys, today im ordering my amplifier and subwoofer.

I decided on a 4 channel Cadence TXA-6004 (bridgeable 600x2) to amp a 12" Alpine Type-R and my Alpine Type-S speakers (55watts rms)

I just wanted to know if this would be a good setup.

Also, is it possible to put my first two channels (speakers) at 2ohms and channel 3,4 (subwoofer) at 4 ohms?

sorry if thats a super silly question, im new to this car audio deal.

also, how much improvement will my speakers have after being hooked up to an amp?

um, I have type-S coaxials (for now) and they sound good when amped, but they get stinky when turned up on about 75 watts... do you have a pair? or two pairs? one pair is not enough. The quality is ok, but they arent the best.

personally it hink you can do better than the type s speakers - the 600 for the R will be *ok*

anyway the improvement you should expect to see is.. basically for every time you double power you get +3db's... say your headunit does 20 now watts ... you'd basically be getting 3-4 dbs higher.. but the speakers will also probaly sound better than stock (if thats wehat you're using.) which really isnt much - truthfully i think its only worth spending the money if you're gonna send 100-200 watts per speaker... but sensativty also comes into play..

i mean will it be an improvement over stock yes.. but im always a firm believer in.. if you're gonna spend the money - dont skimp out.. and i learned this the hardway myself.. but whats gonna happen is.. you're going to love it so much you're going to want more...

I have two pairs (front and rear) and they get pretty dang loud without an amp because im in a small extended cab tacoma.

They're already installed so i'll be using those for now and im sure they'll be ok for the time being.

I just want to be sure that the amplifier+subwoofer setup with be ok.

The amp + sub is what im going to buy, I already have an Alpine headunit and the alpine type-s speakers so I just need to finish the package before I upgrade.

So will this setup work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i didnt look up the amp specs before.. it actually puts out more power than i assumed for the two channels... you can get away with more than the 55 watts.. as long as its clean power.. 100 would probaly be safe but ask around before you take my advice since i never used them

perfect man

im ordering today

i built a box before I even ordered any parts and im so stoked to get them so I can install them

how do I set the watts for the speakers? By adjusting the gain?

type s coaxs are probably my favorite budget speaker, they sound pretty good amped. But yes you could wire the speakers in parallel and amp all four for a 2 ohm load but you will lose the ability to either fade or balance depending on how you wire them.

Your type r is a dual 2 correct?
