Anybody have any experience with them? I am thinking of ordering thr Mod 2 kit tomorrow. The reviews on the seem like they are great.

I thought this too, but the reviews on them seem like they rival lots of other high end sets and outperform some others.

120 correct, I am looking at them and The new SVS towers right now. I can't decide.

I have read but have no truth to the matter that Orb is the gallo oem. I have the Gallo TR3 tube woofer and the thing is insane.

They do look alike.

The Gallo's are quite a bit more money though, but I love these......

just read more into it. I guess the guy from Orb designed and or help design the Gallo's. The Gallos use a little bit better speaker but cost about 3 times as much.

I wonder if they account for comb filtering with the dual drivers playing like that? There is no mention of it, so expect some cancellation in the upper octaves, unless its either a 1.5 way or has EQ on top.

I think you can build a lot better for the price. For example, the HiVi B3S/N is a stellar 3 inch full range driver and can be had for about 10 bucks each plus shipping. An entire great sounding home theater speaker system can be had for "garbage in a box" pricing. One driver plus it's filter parts will cost about $19. That brings it to under $100 for a 5 piece set of satellites.

With anything this small, expect to cross them over fairly high, around 150hz. I would personally run stereo subs in that case.
