Optima yellow top or red top?

I used my yellow top for three years as a starting battery before I sold it and it never gave me a problem
they are made for 2 different purposes.

I'd just rather have a DieHard Platinum.

ya i use to run a yellowtop in the trunk, ive seen many people run them up front too tho. Id say give us ur system layout so we can give you some other ideas or suggestions maybe. I just run a Diehard up front in my lincoln with a batcap in the trunk. when i had the zx 1500.1 in my voltage stayed pretty constant.

I ran a Yellow Top as a starter for years.. No problems at all. You do relize starting a car dont require a redicules amount of juice? But I have learned to LOVE XS power. 3 YTs a ZX2500 would drop me in the 12s for seconds at a time... 3 XS 3400s on 5K dont move unless I really keep it going full tilt at idle for period of time, even then it still dont drop more then .4v. They are worth every cent

Optima's are terrible batteries. I've had one red top explode on me before. What you people should be looking at is the specs for the battery. For instance, look at the short circuit current at the battery. If you cannot get that from the manufacturer then move on to another company.

Personally, I run 6 AGM group 31 Powerbattery's (UPS batteries). If any of you were bright, you'd contact your local battery supply house and ask for DEKA belmished batteries.
