I'm thinking about doing 2 sdc 15"s. This will just be a daily ground pounder. I was wondering what to do about a couple of things. Should I go closer to 7 cubes or 9 cubes? I have the room for 9 cubes, no doubt. Also, I was wondering what tuning I should go with. I mean I can't make up my mind on these things and I always second guess myself so I need some other opinions, lol.

Ya I know the suggested specs, lol. I'm thinking about tuning to 36 hz, which isn't that great of a difference really. But I've emailed AQ and the recommended box size they told me is 3-4.5 per sub, but on the website it is 4.5 cubic feet, and the port and sub displacements are included, which doesn't really make sense to me.

i'd say 4 cubes per sub(so 8 cubes total) tuned to about 35 hz...i dont know if you like lows but the fs of the sub is 30 hz....so you dont wanna go much lower than 35...i've got the hdc3 18 in only 6 cubes before displacement tuned to 41 and i'm missing the low end but the high end is enough to make your vision blurry...on only 1k.

what type of music do you primarily listen to? I've done several boxes for 15" SDC's and as mentioned above my standard is 8.5^3 net, 16^2 port area per cube and 38Hz tuning. If you have more then RMS for power I'd shrink it down to 8 cubes. You can go up to 9cubes if you want to murder the lows and tune 35-36Hz.

AQ subs will play below tuning, so don't be afraid to tune a little higher then you would with most other subs.

I've heard people giving them 1000 watts a piece but no more than that. I know the HDC3s are way underrated. I'm not sure what power I will be giving to them sdc2.5.

I listen to rap.

No one can answer that question, too many variables.
If you plan to throw a true 1k on each sub then I'd do 8cubes net and tune at 35-36Hz for rap...
I mean just as a general question. Or how much others have powered them with. I actually think I'm going to use 600w a piece because it's cheaper for me to build a bigger box than to buy more power, even though I sacrifice room.

I'm thinking right now 8.5 cubes tuned to ~36hz. If you think there is something that would be better, tell me. I listen solely to rap and nothing else. This will be a daily driver, so I will take a little more SQ than a little more SPL. Thanks for your advice man. I greatly appreciate it.

HDC3's or SDC's ?
SDC's about 800watts but can be burped a little higher.

HDC3's about 2 to 3Kw but have taken as much as 5kw
It is sdc's. I've had to hdcs, one aluminum and one copper, and a DD 3510. They like teh powah. I'm kind of stuck at what kind of amp to get.
