opinions on Motorola Q 9m

well ive gone to play with it at Verizon a few times and im getting it tomorrow. the only feature I WONT be using is the unlimited access because im already getting internet at home, and i find no reaons to pay 45 bucks a month extra for internet. Considering i have an HP Ipaq, which is the same thing that the phone is except the camera, phone, and texting device. but itll get internet anywhere wi-fi or wireless is, and it does microsoft word, powerpoint, excel, etc. So ill just carry them both with me.

Sounds like a plan, im trying to wait until the christmas season until the other phones Verizon metion on the website a week or so ago are released. My current phone works just like the day I bought it, but Im ready to upgrade!!

Naw not a problem. They had a countdown until they were released then took them off the Verizon homepage, I had to search to find them again

All these should be released around the holiday season, according to them. Not sure what to get, but its prob going to be one of these. I messed with that Motorola Q Music last time I was in there paying a bill. Its pretty cool too.

I have the Sprint version of the Q, and I'm pleased with it after about 2 months.

Only downsides are the battery life, and the phone can lag a little bit if you have a few apps running (a lot of apps run in the background when you exit them- you have to go to the Task Manager and kill em).

It's a pretty good phone, though. There are so many 3rd party apps for it and I've edited the registry with a few tweaks...there's so much crap you can do to them.

Thats one of the reasons I was thinking about the Q myself, trying to get my feet wet with a smartphone, but still have something that was not over bearing for me.

Macho man (lol), can you surf the web with yours? I mean the real web, is that possible with them?

yes its a PDA phone, it has windows mobile 6.0 on it which is on my HP Ipaq, which is a PDA. You can go on any website, and its not cell phone websites, its real websites. but its another 45 a month for that function ALONE through verizon.

AND THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT MACHO!!! much appreciated. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Yeah I can surf the web. It's got a mobile version of IE, but you can either add a 3rd party browser (Opera) or there is a reg. hack that can convert it to a full version of IE.

Browsing is a little slow for me, but I think that's more of Sprint's network ******* then the phones. Supposedly you can edit the registry to have it connect to a proxy automatically, which speeds up the internet significantly. I've tried it, but whenever the phone is turned off, it resets the registry.

but will you still have to pay for the function (internet)? or what do you mean?

Yeah you'll have to pay for it.
