i know some wanted to open them to dust them out, i finally got mine open

i have the 9833

take out the 3 screws in the back, take off the rubber on the knob and slowly work around the whole face separating the front from the back, then pull off the knob and work the front away from the back

the knob is hard has hell to pull off but its not glued or anything just a b!tch and a half to get off

made mine look A LOT better and you get to see the guts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Holy **** dude, thanks for the info. I have a 9833 also and i thought that the dust was gonna be something that i would have to send back to alpine to get out. I just followed your instructions and got all of the dust out. It was bugging the hell out of me. I thought i was the only one. Thanks for the info.
