Sold Oooooooooold School Alpine Deck

I have an Alpine 3DA-W882 double din head unit.

Pulled out of my friend's 1987 Monte Carlo, he didn't want it, and was about to throw it out. I told him I'd take it off his hands.

I just researched this thing, and they retailed for like $700.

Condition of this unit:

5/10 on cosmetics.

5/10 mechanical (CD player doesn't work) Was told it may be dirty inside.

I can't find ANY specs, anywhere.

It has 3 pre-outs, pretty sure they're 2 volt. 3 disk changer, along with casste tape player. 40x4 internal amplifier (around 14-18w rms). Equalizer, the whole nine yards. This is a pretty sweet unit, I'd keep it and get it fixed, but it can't fit into my Civic dash.

$100, I'm up for ANY and ALL offers, too.

probally about right...i use to have a nice Pioneer double DIN back then with all sorts of cool features including voice control and a 50 disc pioneer cd changer....i had it in my 96 mustang i had to customize my dash and relocate the ac controls to the lower dash pocket

i'd like to seen a pic of it in the Monte Carlo Dash and what had to be trimed....i never really looked at my Grand National dash as far as double dins go....but a double din in the GN dash would be pretty cool

Here's the only pic of it i could find on my friend's Myspace.

The bottom had to be cut out by the looks of it, but I'm sure something can be fabricated to mount it.

The car was pretty nigg-rigged, the radio was just placed in there, no real mounting. My friend bought the car from another friend's brother, and he f*cked that car up sooooo bad. I feel bad for the car.

I'm going to give Alpine a call tomorrow, and if they can fix it and give it an overhaul that will be my yes or no to keeping it. Most likely not though, I like my CDA-9883, and will eventually get a 9887 in a few months.

you can sometimes find spare 3 disc cartridges on ebay....Toyota also used the Alpine 3 disc dash changer in some of their models....

Nah, it's not the cartridge. The eye in the player or something doesn't work. Think my friend said it reads disk error or something like that, brand new Tool CD too.
