Onyx? Anyone

Has anyone heard of a subwoofer called Onyx? I bought a 15" Oz Audio Power Series from him and he said the 12" Onyx pounds even harder.

Onyx was geared more towards SQ IIRC

The Matrix Power is one big mofo...SPL monster.

Onyx was a short lived brand. Only around a couple years. Overall good subs though. Sounded good and had the capability to get decently loud. Not sure why they didn't stay around longer.

Is your OZ subwoofer one of the newer Power series, or the older Matrix Power series?

Depends...is it the older Matrix Power or the newer Power series?

If it's the older Matrix Power, then it's not a bad deal. They go for about $150 usually from what I've seen.

If it's the newer Power series (which, given that price I seriously doubt), then it would be the deal of the century for anyone interested in car audio.

That's the older Matrix Power series. Good sounding and will have good output aswell. For reference, there was one for sale over on ECA a while back for $150 shipped...so you paid right around what it's worth. Definitely not a bad thing.

Anyone else own these? How many watts are you putting into these? Are they good at handling a big load like JL's?
