HI, i'm new here, so hello
i bought a kenwood kdc-mp8017 mp3 player for my car about 2-3 years back from an online retailer. this week, it broke, the display went first then after a few weeks the unit completely stopped.
it is a detachable flip-face, and i noticed that the orange cable that bends when you flip the face, has a tear in it and i believe that is cutting off the power from the face to the unit.
anyway, the unit is old enough for the warranty to have expired. when i first got m unit, the waranty papers did not have the retailers name and number on them.
my question is -
1) if i buy online - how do i file for warranty should i ever need it (i noticed Alpine only gives a 1 yr warranty)
2) Are there any online sites that actually honour warranties or do i have to contact the manufacturer
3) If the online retialer is not the manf. approved distributer, will the manf. still honour the warranty?
thanks!
