Out of the ones listed I gave my opinion. Every JBL GTi MKii I have heard sounded like ***.LOL. BTL sounds like wet ***.
JBL is actually a highly regarded SQ sub. All the others listed have far too stiff suspension to be particularly musical.
X-Con I'd have high hopes for. Good build quality, adequate motor force, and soft enough suspension that it should actually sound decent. If Jesse gave me his BTL it'd be louder and sound better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif
Speaking of manly subs, I think you'll like how this xcon sounds. Between a big kerfed port, large volume and low tuning, it gets down.
If you think BTL sounds good, then yeah, GTi MKii would probably not be your thing. If you want all your bass notes to sound like 45hz stick to the woofers with suspension you can't move pushing with both hands.Out of the ones listed I gave my opinion. Oh I get what your saying. I really don't think any of the subs he listed will be good for SQ. SQ and SPL subs usually don't mix. I would look more at Image Dynamics IDMAX for SQ myself.X-Con I'd have high hopes for. Good build quality, adequate motor force, and soft enough suspension that it should actually sound decent.

The suspension isn't actually that soft at all. I got the sub used LNIB (it had been used only for a few hours) and it was very hard to push it in much. I can get close to bottoming it out but that's only cause I'm running my 2200 on it wide open and the box is 7 cubes. Either way, this xcon blows the hdc3 out of the water in every aspect I can think of, even loudness. I need to fix my roof and door panels because they flex too much on the lows lol.X-Con I'd have high hopes for. They are soft compared to AQ, DD, Nightshade, BTL, etc.The suspension isn't actually that soft at all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gifIn theory, two subwoofers on 800watts each will be louder than one identical subwoofer on 1600watts (assuming it can handle it) by about 3dB. This is because in the former case you have twice as much cone area. But then, a sub that handles 1600watts probably costs scary money.
Box design matters way more than power handling. You could have set-ups that were exactly identical except the box and each one would sound and meter differently.Thats what i was looking for , which would be louder. One 1500 watt subwoofer , or 2 say 750 watt subwoofer.
