ONE QUICK QUESTION..plz help

Hi, i am taking my sub out of its box to work on the box, can i just leave the sub hooked up in the car running without the box (while i work on it) or will it do damage to the sub running free-air?? Thanks!!!!

2 problems:

if you run very much power to the sub it will be bottoming out like crazy which leads to release of the magic smoke

if you leave the sub sitting in your trunk, its going to roll around when you turn, which im guessing is not a good idea

just get a plastic bucket,blanket/towel and some duct tape.

No it wont be ok.. do not do hook it up. Unless you have a CV stroker, you cant run free air.

Free air meaning mount it on a plate of MDF in the trunk. Like a wall setup. I did it in my t-bird, while I was waiting for my box to be built. that what free air means, not just setting the speaker in the trunk, thats just stupid.
