Last night I was tearing apart my oldschool PPI sedona series amp to replace the old heatsink compound, add new kapton insulator tape, and redo a couple solder joints and I noticed it was a real pain in the *** to get the board out of the heatsink. I take a quick look between the bottom of the board and the heatsink and I see that there is some silicone or something holding the board onto the heatsink. No big deal here ,seen it plenty of times. A little gentle prying with a putty knife and it came right off. Now once it was off I absolutely never expected to see this:
Somebody at PPI spelled out F--K in the silicone. F--kin amazing!! After getting the amp apart I fully believe that it has never been disassembled before. It all just had that factory look. So somebody at the PPI factory left this little gem for whoever might someday see it. I love it!! When I put it back together I wanted to add some more silicone in that area to stiffen up the board near the terminals so I just finished it off with a "YOU" . Hopefully if I ever get rid of this amp somebody down the roads tears her apart and enjoys this as much as I did.
