Does anyone run two amps on one dvc sub? I haven't seen it done, and I did some research and I've heard its not a problem then I've heard its a huge no no. I want to put a quantum qsa1500d on each coil of my d2 rl-p. Any advice?????

they make amps that are strappable.

you only set the settings on the "master" amp

and the slave amp runs off those settings also ( wich are fed by a conector wire from amp to amp ) - not all amps can do this tho.

you would want an amp like he^ said... Rockford has sync with master/slave amps so the settings would be identical.. Even then not all amps are equal.. even identical amps.. the birthsheets aren't the same.. It will be fun tuning them thats for sure.. why not just one big amp?

I would say not to do that for the same reasons every one above said. you will never have two amps that are going to preform the same so each voice coil will be getting a different amount of power and that just doesnt sound good to me. Also if they are any pit out of phase with each other you will have the coils fighting against each other.

the reason I'm not going to do one big amp is because I got 2 of those amps for a hell of a deal. The sub is d2 and I'd hate to only I'd one amp at "750" watts at 4 ohms. If I were to put an amp on each coil what ohm would I be running the amp at? 2 ohm or 4 ohm on each coil???

duh. I wasn't even thinking. I wonder if my rl-p could handle the "1500" on each coil :-D
