Welding Lead for big 3 and amps. good idea???

I have access to a good bit of used 2/0 ga welding lead, and i was thinking of using it to do my big 3 upgrade and possibly run it to my 2nd battery. Doubt it would be possible to run to amps but..... What im asking is is it would it work better than regular audio cable being that its used, and is it even a good idea or worth the time? What do ya think.....

it should work fine. the fact that it is used should not matter as long as the cable was not abused. i would not use any part of it with any decent wear on the insulation.

Its probably made of copper, so in a sense I would say it was better than audio power cable, since its mostly aluminum today.

Back in the good old days, welding leads was all we had available to run anything BIG! I still remember in 1987 seeing one of my uncle's friends using welding leads to wire up his Rockford Fosgate Power 1000. He had a sweet Nakamichi, JBL, and Rockford Fosgate setup in his Ford Bronco! The Nakamichi tape deck didn't even have auto-reverse, lol, but it sure did sound sweet!

Welding Cable is fine and used in MANY setups, a bunch of people on this board areusing Welding Cable actually. Some even use 4/0 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif.

Also, depending on the amp 2/0 welding may fit. Most of the time 2/0 welding is similar to 1/0 of a oversized audio wire such as Knu's wires.

Only thing your losing out on is a bit of flexibility, but I was never one to care about flexibility..

yea, im not real worried about flexibility, leave that for the bed room!! HA but any way, we have like 300 ft laying around here collecting dust, with some minor cuts, frays etc. but that can be easily taken care of. If i can get away with doing it for free instead of $5/foot, im on it.
