One alt for start up 2nd alternator for system OR?

`unlessssss someone can talk me out of it with facts why itl be better to run them both as one big alt on the system and car..

so my plan is to run one stock alt self exciting to a reg battery that shuts off when i start the vehicle///

then my other alternator which i plan on building up with bigger stater and more whining to at least 280 290 amps its 240 right now.. for my 2nd up front battery and 4 back battery's ..so ill have no current draw from the vehicle which is about 30-40 im assuming...

my other plan would be to just run to of the same 240s as one but my alt guy said this would be a better option care to chime in ??

have both alts power entire batt bank, makes ZERO sense to not have them both working when playing your system since it's all a 12v set up.

Ideally you'd want alts to be the same size, but I run a 270 & 390 in my set up with no issues...

thats what i was thinking but i think the alt guy thinks this is safer he dosent have to much experience in car audio just building an selling alts..i want to run 2 240s to charge the bank just say 150 at idle x2 300amps minus the 30 amd draw of car better then one 24o single one for it...wed

there is NO reason not to let both alts charge the vehicle....

Agreed. Run both alts together as well as all the batteries together. Absolutely no reason not to if both are setup for 12 volts.

Can anyone guve me a lil diagram how to jump the alternator plug to wire them as one?
