on the verge, the premier 860MP

so then are the crossover functions on a head unit only used for those who go active? i mean, can't i just adjust all of the crossovers for all of my speakers on my amp?

Yes, you can. YOu don't have to use the hp or lp on the deck if you don't want to but I would strongly suggest that you do. The crossovers on the 860 are much better and easier to control from your driver's seat than the ones on your amps.

i see. one more question. because i biamp my components up front (each channel on my 4channel amp is dedicated to the 4 speakers of the components) and the 860MP and x889 only have 3 sets of preouts and i can only set the crossovers for "front, back and sub" on the headunit, am i not able to tune the set of tweeters sepratley from the set of midranges from my components? i mean the "front" preouts are for my components, the "rear" or for my rear fill and "sub" is for my subwoofer, don't the tweets and mids up front just get lumped together?

i tried to word this as best as possible, thanks for the help.

You could always use the deck in pro mode. Then the front preouts become "HIGH" and the back preouts become "mid" and the sub is still for the subs. Then you have a pre out for each individual driver.

i guess what i mean is that technically i have 7 speakers total:

front: 2 tweeters, 2 midrange speakers

rear: 2 midrange

sub: 1 sub

now it seems as though both of the decks that i like only offer adjustments to be made for "front", "rear" and "sub" however, i actually have 2 sets of speakers up front which are made for completely different tones, the tweeters for the highs and the midrange for midrange and midbass. if i can only make adjustements for simply "Front" aka my components, i cannot tune the tweets seperatley from the mids.

right, well i'm sure someone has run into this problem sometime, having components up front, rear fill in the back and a sub, but wanting the capability to adjust each set of speakers:

front:tweets

front:mids

rear:mids

sub:sub

if anyone has advice where to go from here, awesome. or even if they just have a suggestion on what to do, that would be great, thanks.
