? on re sx recone

So my 12" Re Sx stopped working and it turns out one of the tinsels snapped. So I guess I need a recone? I was looking at the $80 recones on ebay for the sx... would I be able to get one of those and recone the sub myself? I'd get ahold of Scott @ http://www.ficaraudio.com. If I'm not mistaken, he had a hand in designing the SX during his time at RE.

I've never dealt with any re-cones, but I hear Scott is the best...
