Can I run the wire from the engine block(alt. mountint post) to the NEG on the battery or to the same point on the chassis where i went from NEG on bat to chassis? Or does it have to have its own grounding point?

It would see like it wouldnt make a difference to me, but every pic I have seen of it it has been to its own ground point on the chassis

you CAN run from the alternator mounting post to chassis, its just the same affect as if you were to run from the engine block to the chassis. cause the alt mount post is bolted onto the engine, thats why a few ppl run it just from their.

in my honda civic, for "chassis to engine" grounding, what i did was used my factory ground point off the radiator support and ground it to the factory ground point of the engine block as well. so theres 2 sets of wires for "chassis to engine" in my civic currently.

hope this is what your trying to figure out?

i re read it again, i think what your trying to find out is if you can start from the chassis (the one thats already grounding from the neg batt > chassis) and link it to the engine (or alt mount post)? if thats what your asking, it works, but your better off making another separate connection for the engine. so therefore, it will be neg batt to engine
