Okay, so in re-designing my stereo system, i decided to ditch my boston acoustics 6.5's cuz they sound like garbage from being used a lot really loud, having trash get down into the motor structure (dont ask how). So i decided that for the sake of clearance for my new fiberglass boxes, i would fiberglass over the holes i had cut into the hatch bay cover... leaving this as the first layer of glass...
So yeah i got to thinking, what am i going to use to mount my speakers, and more importantly.. which speakers ami going to use... And as i looked around my room i noticed a pair of old kicker Substation 80 tubes laying on my floor and it gave me an idea. What if i fiberglassed those onto the hatch cover? i would also add some tweeters and an amp with highpass/lowpass crossover... Does anyone know about those old substation 80s? like frequency response, power handling, etc? i want to use them as midbass... how would i go about isolating the frequency range from.. oh about 80hz - 400hz? I was gonna do some frosted plexiglass back there while im at it.. like a big long poece between the 2 subs.. i think itll look badas!
