you do not sound like the right person for the new mags..

new mags are SQ oriented, not SPL......... they wont take a ton of power like the old ones they will be XBL^2 which means short coil, which means thermal handling is about 1/3 of the older mags.

unless you have a SQ car in mind, i would advise on investing in another woofer. you'd probably blow possibly one of the best sq subwoofers designed to date.

i did buy them brand new bout 5 to 6 years ago, i really dont kno what they sound like,, the biggest amp i had on them was a kicker 1302,, its like 400 watts max bridged.. and 400 just to one of them didnt even make em move .
