well i have a new project ill be working on over chirstmas...two 15s in a friends ford escort. and i will be diagnosing her speakers and finding out whats wrong and probably putting new speakers in. anyhow, she bought this box with the two 15s when she went down to sacramento to live last year. bandpass 5/8s particle board....leaky as hell...the ports came out without efffort at all(no screws no nothing) and yet it apperently got very loud hah

anyhow, im curious how these will sound when all said and done. ill be designing a box as i go. the actual box will be built over christmas.

here are some pics...lemme know if you have used these and what kind of box they like

the box size can go as low as 2 cf for each, so ill be able to build a large enough box and still keep half her trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and it should get pretty low....

im excited to see what these can do hah. she got ripped though, unless these are worth 100/pc. payed 200 for them and a box. not a terrible deal but i dont imagine they are worth much more than 50 each

well...****. i spent hours workin on the box to get it to fit(had to trim the sides by 6.5'' and then i finally go and test drive it. they sounded like they we not in the best shape as i was installing them...they would make weird noises when i pressed on them. anyhow, i set the gain at a moderate level and drove around for like 15 minutes seting the equilizer and shit. the song changes and pow. the ****ers pop. ****. anyhow i now have to tell the girl i blew her subs (which were probably on the verge of blowing) and she needs new ones. im probably going to end up paying for some new ones as it seems like the good thing to do. i think the kicker comp 15 is a good fit...it has the exact same cutout size, is only 98 bucks, is single 4 ohm, requires about the same sized sealed box, and the power handling is 100 watts more. also it does have a 15+ year old 1" voice coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif . i will finish the instal tommarow and post all the pictures. ill also update on what subs will be put in. if anyone has any recomendations of a 15" sub that costs less than 100, is single 4 ohm, works well in around 1.5-2cf sealed and is around 200rms let me know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yea, id rather put the kickers in than the p1's. id do 15" p2 s though...

anyhow, turns out i didnt break the woofers. i must have just put them into protect. so today i put in 7 hours and finish off the install....

in total i put around 20 hours doing:

1) install amplifier

2) put in rear speakers

3) put front speakers in

4) build box

5) build "beauty panels"

6) final tuning and tinkering with some wires on the headunit. the rear speakers dont work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

on to the pics...sorry there arent many box construction pics, i was too pissed off to take pics since i had to shave 3.25" off each side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
