Where the eff were you when I posted about using cardboard 8 months ago!?!

Oh well, it's not the end of the world. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

i like cardboard, everything ups has ever brought to my house was wrapped in it. if you have rammatt or dynamatt or something on both side of the cardboard im sure it will be fine for years and years and much better than having a hole there, dont worry about wat evreone here sais, they dont have lives, they need somewhere to pretend they exhist and jump at the oppertunity to flame someone if they can, and if 1 starts they all join in ( like gay seks)

I honestly don't mind being told I screwed up, but I'd at least like to hear some reasoning other than "you fugged up".

I mean, truthfully, this is a forum to help others. When I did this and made my original post in October I got positive feedback so I went on with my install and didn't worry about it. I figure the cardboard will do the same as thin sheet metal or chicken wire, and as long as it's covered well it shouldn't absorb moisture.

If the cardboard is covered on both sides with deadening so it is sealed from moisture you should be all good. If the cardboard is just open on one side and pressing against the door where it could hold moisture and promote rust you might have a problem.

It's covered on both sides:

This is actually this INSIDE, I just put it up against the door in the picture.

The outside layer without deadener on it yet:
