Need to build a system,medium budget of 1500 -

Limited to 2 - 8" or 10" subs & sealed box or 1 in ported box

Wires (4ga) , blocks etc

6.5 comps Front

6.5 Rears (RAF)

Max power 700@2ohm subs

100x2 comps

and HU

This is what I want to make for my new work vehicle which is a small 4 seater

which is limited in trunk space of a small hatchback

what would you build

Im looking for SQ more than SPL

Start with a killer deck. Splurge a little on the primary source of your audio indulgence. My reasoning, if you have a kick ass amp, the sound will still sound crappy if your head unit *****. Also, with the right head unit, you can go with the components amped off the deck to save you some cash for later on. Go with a two 8" in a sealed box (sealed is generally smaller). Push the 8s with a decent amp (about 250-500 depending on the 8s). I would honestly look to spend close to $1000 for both the head unit and amp (with wires and patch cables obviously). That would give you $500 to spend on a couple **** good sets of components. Now, you can get a couple really good 8s for around $45 each (stay away from Best Buy and others... you'll pay too much for crappy equipment). The two 8s would give you the surface area just a tad larger than a 12 with a 3db boost if you put the subs in the same chamber (firing down). With the right amp, the subs could really crank... just not intended for SPL. You can get some good components for under $150. All you would need is a set for the rear... but if you want, go with an excellent component set up front and set the sound stage to the front of the car, ignore the back.

single 10. if ur going to go 8s, the RE8 or the image dynamics 8 are wonderful. talk to loyd, he did a "battle of the 8s"

pair of soundsplinter rl-i 8's or 10's 300 or so

alpine 9833 300 or so

eD nine.1 350

eD nine.2 175

eDi 6500's, diamond hex s600s, cdt's, etc, 200-300

1/0 awg wire 30

distro block 10

rca's 10

box- 30-50

Total is right around 1500 and that would be one hell of a system.

god ****, there's more out there than soundsplinter. oh well, i guess its just a new phase.

the setup he just listed - if i had $1,500 to setup a system - id do it in a heartbeat considering your specifications.

I use Waze on my 1500 NEX. The one time I did have issues I had to delete weblink and redownload it. I have location to "while using" on weblink app.

This would go a long way to alleviating the dimming issue, up to around 4000 watts. It can handle 100A continuous and up to 285A 7 second burst...

Well, there is always a bypass that can be McGuyvered. So next time you want to tackle that task, post it. We can help.
