Ok so i need help now

My battery keeps dying( its a regular 600CCA battery) no AGM. ive come to the conlcusion that i definately need to upgrade my alternator and battery now. i have too many electronics in my car

how much amps for the alternator would i need for around 1500 watts? right now i only have about 900 watts in my car (1 alpine type r swr-1043d at 700 watts and hybrid audio imagines at 130 watts) but i will be adding another subwoofer very shortly

anyone know where i can get a good high output alternator and what kind of battery is good for 1500 watts?

Just because one battery dies doesn't mean you need a new alt. Did you do the big 3 yet? How old is that battery?

i would go with a min of a 200amp alt..and you will need to do the big 3,as recommended when adding the ho alt..meachum has a great reputation on the forum,may also contact a local alternator shop,classifieds,alterstarts in dallas,tx..but for only 900watts/1500 watts,you should be able to get by without buying the ho..orileys battaries are much better/have more cca than the redtops now,and come w a 7yr warranty/prorated by yr...and get the biggest alternator over the counter/orileys carries you can,and i would do the min of the big three with 4 ga wiring for the stock alternator,and new batt..doing that would save you some money,and i think you will be just fine,and should hold up to the task just fine...new batt,biggest alt non ho you can get,and get some 4ga min, and do the big three for this,and i think you will be just fine, and save some money

Do the big 3 and get a beefy AGM under the hood...that should hold you over for a good bit. If it doesn't add another battery to the back. You ideally want to have a bit of battery supply before investing into an alternator

It sounds like you have another issue. Are you playing your stereo with the engine off? I would check all your connections. Do you have DDM? Check to see if you have a draw on the battery at rest.

What kind of car is it? when I was working at a Nissan dealer as tech, we had a lady that kept having issues with dead batteries. He discovered that the car and all the new ones tested all held a high draw for a several minutes after parking it. She was only driving he Maxima 1.5miles at most. So it wasn't being driven enough to recharge the batter.

i dont play my music with the car off i never did. my car just dies when i go to start it up in the morning frequently now. im not sure. but i really want to get a good AGM battery for around 200. what can i get ?

the battery i have now is called power start or something like that i got it from an auto parts warehouse with an auto body shop discount for like 60 bucks and ive had it for about 7 months.

so would i be better off with 2 batterys instead of 1 good agm battery and an upgraded alternator?

Even at a 'low' of 12V supplied and consistently at max output, you'd only be looking at a theoretical 125A (plus he is only at 900W at this point).

Without knowing what the stock alt is rated at, even if it is only 80-90A I would still think a good AGM under the hood might suffice...just sounds like the OP's current batt is shot, so cheaper and easier to replace it, first, then go from there.

Big Three highly recommended, regardless, tho

alright guys thanks for helping! ill get a good AGM battery. btw i think my stock alt is only 60 amps.

whats a good AGM battery to buy thats not overly expensive?

is the hc1200 enough or should i go for the 1400? im not sure if hte 1400 will fit fine but it should lol...let me know before i purchase!

btw i already have 2 of the 3 of the big three upgrade. i have 5 ground wires all over my car all i need to do is just from the alternator to my battery then ill have the big 3 completed

Got to agree. It sounds like a new problem. Killing a 7 month old battery isn't likely. Is the battery charging? Is there a parasitic drain? Does the battery need water? Identifying the problem before doing anything else is pretty important here. Putting a $200 battery into a defective system makes it pretty likely to kill the $200 battery. Then you're no better off than you were and you're $200 poorer.

the battery is charging but sometimes out of no where it dies i really have no idea how. the only electronics i have installed is my recently installed alarm system (had it for about 4 weeks and this is hte first time it died with the new alarm) but prior to my alarm system i only have my audio (2 amps, 1 subwoofer, 1 set of speakers, and one audiocontrol Lc2i line out converter. but it completely drained a few times before my alarm system so im not sure. i know for a fact nothing is on (lights) and also i have fog lights installed but it shouldnt be pulling anything from the battery when its off. and also i have a weapon r i throttle controller that connects to the obd II reader. i really dont get it i cant figure out the culprit to this problem. but anyway every time my car has completely died nothing ever happend to any of my amplifiers except for this time
