first, let me explain my incident of my big-3 install.
neg to chassis = fine
engine ground to chassis = fine
positive battery to positive alt = bad
heres background on the car/equipment.
vehicle: 03 honda civic, 70amp OE alt
equipment: 4ga wiring, 4ga big-3 wiring, 60amp agu fuse by battery feeding a brutus bx500d (50a). and other random grounds with 4ga.
as i hooked up my anl fuse with an 80a rated fuse in between (right in the center) the wire of the "positive alt to positive batt"...3min after, the fuse blew. leaving my car completely unelectrical (no horn, alarm, key wont ignite, etc). turns out the main fuse to the battery was blown too . thus the reason why i gave up.
NOW, can someone steer me into the right direction and tell me what i have done wrong? one of my buddies said the fuse ive used was too small and some member off another forum said the ring terminal probably touched the alt housing than just the alt positive post.
