Well i been debating alot on what subs are for me but cant decide on what i want. So im looking into two subs at least two 12's or maybe 2 15. I want them to be loud enough to hear me from blocks away but at the same time i want them to sound great! I drive a 1994 Accord plan to get a custom fiberglass trunk dont care if it takes up the whole trunk. I was intrested in the alpine type x for a while cause i was gonna do all apline but changed my mind but i will still consider them, Also im intrested in the jl w6v2,Daimond Audio D9,Kicker L7,but i be willing to take suggestions... MY buget well i dont really have one but dont want to expensive cause i plan to save money every month just dont want it to be outrageous 2500 at the most thats for subs and amps and supplies. mistake #1 never say you want a system that can be heard from blocks away, if you did that, you would be frowned upon or flamed, badly. First some members would give you a pep talk, then older members are going to tell you to stfu and go way...

anyways, since your new, i'll give you some suggestions...

$2500 max is a huge budget and it'll pretty much go to waste if you want a custom fiberglass job the size your describing. i'm guessing at the cheapest, a fiberglass of the size would cost you $2000 with labor, which leaves you with an average system...now this is what i suggest...

subs: kicker solo x - 2 for about a $1000 (crazy loud with right amount of power)

dd9915 or 2 dd 9912 under $1000 (still crazy loud and great quality)

2 si mag under $1000 (get hella low and good output in the right enclosure

2 fi btl under $1000 (new forum boner, great subs)

amp: something decent from hifonics or orion or anyother cheap power i forgot to mention

supplies- if you take my suggestion and go ported (you really should!!) then about 50 bucks for mdf, glue, carpet, tool all for under $150

now that is a system to drool over...

so your asking why not fiberglass? well fiberglass enclusures are not ported = less out put (bad for rap) and if you don't mind sacrificing the trunk, then you could do a huge as s poted box that would slam like crazy.

so think about it, expensive as h ell fiberglass or huge out put from $150 box? (besides, fiberglassing the entire trunk is for serious competitors making show vehicles...for looks...)

well thanks about everything i am pretty new but yeah i was thinking of making it into a little show car.So your sayin that if i get it ported it will sound better can you make the trunk look good ported? Cause i dont really car that much how the trunk looks just that it isnt bad looking ya know. well does anyone else have suggetions thanks in advance.

You can make ported boxes look nice. But you wont get a nice fiberglass box and be able to be heard from blocks away. You will probably have to pick one.

Mags are nice, they are loud and sound really good.

BTL's are built for SPL, so 2 of them, and you'll be really loud. They need a lot of power. If you get 2 mags or 2 BTL's, you would need to do big 3 / new battery. And since your going for SPL, how is your frontstage? Stock? Decent aftermarket speakers? Because if you have 2 mags, 2 btls, 2 kickers, w/e, its going to majorly drown out everything w/ bass. I actually have BM's, but a friend of mine, Justin ( Jntar on these forums ) has a mag sealed, and it sounds really nice.

If you wanna hear my BM's thats cool, I'd be more than happy to show them to you so you can make a better decision. anyways xxx, i'm glad you understand what i said, now ported boxes can look great if you can think a bit creatively, i've seen people build amp racks beside the box to make it look like a wall, or building the box then covering it with carbon fiber, or you know what you can do, fiberglass on top of ported box , just make sure you don't cover the port hole.

what did you think about the subs i suggested? If your looking to do cheaper, i definately suggest some bm's or maybe a single 15" mag. total of ~$800 when bought with a sundown amp

that's an easy one the sundown 1500 like nolimit said

2 dvc 2ohm mags at .5 ohm + sundown 1500 making > 2000rms at .5ohm =

dam n nice system for a packege price of $1100

at the end it's all up to what you want, more spl or super low monster

the bm's have a bit higher spl but the mag would drop kick you in the balls below 35hz so good luck
