its perfectly normal for a gas station to only break even or even lose money on Gasoline ... its other purchases that make up for it .. Gas is not there for profit .. for the store itself anywayIf your dads gas station is loosing money, he shouldn't be in business.

im just assuming he was losing money on gas ... wich is pefectly normal if you are trying to keep up with the competition... if the store itself is losing money then there is bigger things wrong ..He stated they were losing money, and operating in the red doesn't last long![]()
Dude, I went to work on monday and it was $3.88 at the cheapest stations.ya funny thing is i watch the gas 24/7 (price per barrel of oil) and i see it going down all the time yet it was 3.85 locally yesterday
went by today..
3.92.
the price went up..while oil was going down.. and yes they already knew the hurricane was not going to strike..
it really pisses me off how it drops a few dollars and takes about a week to get the effect of the 5 cents
but if price per barrel goes up a dollar you will see it raised almost immediately.
i said some times we loose money on a load of gas. but then we make a couple cents one load to it evens out. hes owned it for 15 yrs so its paid off. there are now allot of other stations in the area to compete with, and in order to keep are customers we got to go cheap. the other stations have a mortgage to pay we don't so we can last. all of them have been recently sold to new owner in the last couple of yrs.If your dads gas station is loosing money, he shouldn't be in business.
ill say that our price to buy the gas went up 17 cents yesterday. luckily we did not need a load at that price.Dude, I went to work on monday and it was $3.88 at the cheapest stations.
Today those stations are $4.15!!! WTFBBQ?!?!
A 27 cent INCREASE in less than 24 hours, all while the price of oil is dropping? Walmart is the only station that stayed the same. Whats even funnier is that the speedway across the street from the walmart is selling for $4.15 while walmart is selling for $3.95. Needless to say, no line at speedway and a big line at walmart. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
