Oil FTW

If your dads gas station is loosing money, he shouldn't be in business.
its perfectly normal for a gas station to only break even or even lose money on Gasoline ... its other purchases that make up for it .. Gas is not there for profit .. for the store itself anyway

He stated they were losing money, and operating in the red doesn't last long :p

Don't you guys see? The oil companies are conditioning us.....

Back when gas past the 2$ mark ppl were outraged. It jumped 20-30 cents over about a week. The price was steadied and people calmed a little but when it went down a couple of cents people were HAPPY....

Price goes up 30 cents the comes down 5-10 cents making ppl feel better but it's still up 20-25cents!

People would KILL for $2.30/gal now but when gas hit that price not to long ago everyone was outraged.

im just assuming he was losing money on gas ... wich is pefectly normal if you are trying to keep up with the competition... if the store itself is losing money then there is bigger things wrong ..

ya funny thing is i watch the gas 24/7 (price per barrel of oil) and i see it going down all the time yet it was 3.85 locally yesterday
went by today..

3.92.

the price went up..while oil was going down.. and yes they already knew the hurricane was not going to strike..

it really pisses me off how it drops a few dollars and takes about a week to get the effect of the 5 cents

but if price per barrel goes up a dollar you will see it raised almost immediately.
Dude, I went to work on monday and it was $3.88 at the cheapest stations.

Today those stations are $4.15!!! WTFBBQ?!?!

A 27 cent INCREASE in less than 24 hours, all while the price of oil is dropping? Walmart is the only station that stayed the same. Whats even funnier is that the speedway across the street from the walmart is selling for $4.15 while walmart is selling for $3.95. Needless to say, no line at speedway and a big line at walmart. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

i said some times we loose money on a load of gas. but then we make a couple cents one load to it evens out. hes owned it for 15 yrs so its paid off. there are now allot of other stations in the area to compete with, and in order to keep are customers we got to go cheap. the other stations have a mortgage to pay we don't so we can last. all of them have been recently sold to new owner in the last couple of yrs.
